We’ve followed the work of Abram Goglanian on his Instagram account for quite awhile. He’s managed to capture some beautiful scenes in his travels around the world with his focus on strong composition and design elements. Abram is a 29 year old photographer from Southern California and in this set, he’s sharing his photos from a trip to Iceland.
I visited Iceland last summer and spent about a week traveling throughout the West and South sides of the country. Despite the heavy degree of tourism during this time of year, there were several places where I found I was the only human in sight. I’ve never felt such a sense of stillness in beauty anywhere else in the world. I took every available opportunity to get lost and go off road, to leave as many main areas behind as possible. This trip also marked the first time I had the chance to travel internationally by myself, and it was a truly enlightening experience. I will absolutely be returning to Iceland in the future, so I can see the North and East sides as well. In addition to my digital Leica, on this trip I was using an M2 with an Elmarit 28mm and a Zeiss 50mm Planar.
Don’t be afraid to try going somewhere new. Just go.
